Graphic Design: Baby girl name announcement

My friend Ashleigh {of Thankfully Thrifty} and her husband wanted to announce to friends and family their daughter's name in a special way. They also wanted to share the meaning of the beautiful name they had labored over and give specific ways to pray for baby girl's life. I love it.

Here's where we landed. Noble, feminine, and crisp for a sweet family.

Graphic Design: a uniquely FUN couples shower invitation

For a creative friend and shower hostess extraordinaire, Allison. [Thanks, friend!]

They had this great entertainment theme in mind, so we ran with it! Bold, names in lights, little bit of Broadway, little bit of Vegas... Lots of fun to design.

Maddie & McKinley

These two little sweeties just turned two. They are best of friends, yet so uniquely different in their personalities. They are like nieces to us, so I wanted to make something special that would remind them just how precious they are when mommy and daddy read it to them.  It was fun to try to capture even an ounce of their cuteness!

These descriptions are straight from God's Word. He loves us so much and tenderly delights in His children. I need to be reminded of this.

Putting them in vintage frames was the cherry on top!

Love these girls and love their families~

Baby Shower Invitation: Zigzag Mobile

We showered a sweet friend and her on-the-way baby boy Jude.

Two things I wanted to incorporate into the invitation's design:
 - the meaning of his handsome name and
 - the cool colors and zigzags from the fabric in his nursery.

I thought a mobile was playful and cute but still boyish. And I wrapped little paper bands to personalize them instead of using envelopes for the ones that were hand delivered.

Here's the final look:

wedding invitation

I was looking back at some of my little projects and found a wedding invitation I designed a few years ago.
I love its minimal feel on the tea length white background.

Also, it's funny to note that I titled it "weird rose" when I saved it. A charming weird rose in my book.

Though my friends ended up picking a different one I came up with that was a better fit for their elegant, traditional wedding, this one is still loved :)

Sprout Shower

Two springs ago I designed this baby shower invitation to shower my sweet friend and her now-almost-two year old daughter. We didn't know yet that little Maddie was all sugar and spice and everything nice, so this was the neutral gender invitation. They called her "Sprout" up until they named her, so I wanted to work in that cute nickname since I thought it added character and personalized it for them.

I printed them at home (4 x 6) and glued them onto varying earth-toned shimmery pieces of cardstock so there was a border of color.

Names and personal info are changed....In case you didn't read the part about it being a couple years ago and you try to crash the party :)

Graphic Design: Oh What Fun

I know it's April.

But still, I'm posting our Christmas card from 2011 for your viewing pleasure and for me to have chronicled in my file of silly things I have designed.

We like to think we're slightly odd (in an endearing way, maybe?) and we like to have fun! We wanted to put a smile on our family and friends' faces -- or at least make them raise an eyebrow :) So here's what we came up with.

I had them printed by www.moo.com and they turned out fantastic!

Pretend it's March 14th

I had a little fun on my sweetie's birthday a couple of weeks ago.... and I got a laugh out of him, so I'm happy :)

Graphic design: Honey Do

A cute little invitation for a couples shower.
A sweet friend {pun intended} gave me the concept from another one
she had seen - and I drew it up. I love this sort of thing.

Names and numbers changed to protect the innocent :)

Has anyone been to a Honey Do shower with bride and groom together? Definitely a fun idea!

graphic design: Southern Harmony

A talented friend is part of The Women's Chorus of Dallas. Bam.

They are a non-profit group who serve the community by raising money through their performances. And with an upcoming concert by the Secret Sisters, she was charged with designing a logo for the event...and wanted some creative help. I was recruited.

Here's her email:
Coming up in September, there will be a concert by the Secret Sisters (from what I understand, they are kind of country bluegrass) and all of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to TWCD.   So I have been tasked with designing a logo for the event. This logo will then be plastered all over the web, posters, mailers and most other media you can think of announcing the concert.
SOUTHERN HARMONY, a benefit for the Women's Chorus of Dallas

Um, right up my alley!  A few of us got together, brainstormed on:
Feminine, southern, bluegrass....and with the vintage, cute vibe on the Secret Sisters website....

Here's what we came up with.

A little song bird on an old-timey Shure 55 Elvis Mic. Lots of fun.
