Update

Just a little update to say this year wasn't my year for 15 minutes of dress design fame :) I had lots of fun flexing a few different creative muscles for this.

Punkin Patch

It was a sunny, breezy, short-sleeved fall afternoon (that was supposed to be funny) and we headed out to the pumpkin patch with friends.

Dress Design: Bette

I'm feeling wild so I decided to enter a little friendly competition in dress design. A whole new world for me :)

Darling clothing company Shabby Apple celebrates stylish modesty and generously supports women in the developing world through partnerships with charitable non-profits (read more on their site). They have quite a selection of cute dresses you should check out.

But first...my designs :) See all three posts.

Here is Bette... dress design for Shabby Apple dresses.

10 - 10 - 10

It was a beautiful quiet Sunday morning.

A perfect day to get our Nashville trip booked.

State Fair

Born and raised in Texas.

And just now made it to the State Fair, and boy, what a fair it is. We rode this well-recognized ferris wheel.
Everything is deep fried, including
beer, corn on the cob, chocolate covered strawberries, and mattresses.

We said Howdy to Big Tex, walked miles as we soaked in the sights and smells (and tastes) of the fair, and enjoyed being with family.

artichoke heart

Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

Color Block

IMG_2714
I unwound from work with markers one afternoon.
IMG_2716
Turned out looking like a mix of Egyptian hieroglyphics and one of those colored sand kits.

I like how the individual strokes and shapes joined to form a block of color. See what fun you can have just doodling with markers.
